About IndiaBUILD

IndiaBUILD is a map of the hard technologies India is learning to build. Browse it by sector — aerospace, semiconductors, defence, and more. Open any page and you'll see what the thing is, why it's hard to make, where India stands today, and who's working on it. Each page also lists the technologies that go into it — the engine inside the aircraft, the alloy inside the engine — and every one of those links to its own page. Follow the links, and you'll start to see how it all connects: fixing one gap often unlocks several others.

The builders

On every page, you'll find the builders. These are the companies, startups, labs, and government programmes working on that technology, along with how far each has reached — from early research to production. You'll see two things side by side: what a builder says about its own progress, and our own assessment based on evidence. Where a page shows no builders at all, that's worth knowing too — it's an open opportunity. A policy layer is coming soon, connecting each gap to the decisions that could close it faster.

Every claim is sourced

Every fact on the site shows its source. Click the citations on any page to see where a claim comes from — each one is checked by our proprietary intelligence engine before it goes up. You'll also notice a small label on every page showing how thoroughly it has been verified. Pages that have passed the fullest checks are the ones you'll find through search engines; the rest are still here to read, just not yet stamped.

A living map

The site changes as India moves. The homepage shows you what moved recently — statuses upgraded, new builders, fresh milestones — and every page keeps its history, so you can see the journey, not just today's position. If you spot an error, know of an update, or are building something we've missed, use the suggest button; a person reviews every submission before anything changes. IndiaBUILD is part of Swarajya, and it's free to browse — because seeing the climb clearly is the first step in making it.
